The Man In The Palace also known as Situ Nan (司徒南) is a recurring character of Renegade Immortal, the English title of Xian Ni, the first of Er Gen's four novels set in the same universe. The events in I Shall Seal the Heavens take place much later than Renegade Immortal. By the time of the events in ISSTH, Situ Nan is has already left the Vast Expanse and has left a soul piece on the Immortal God Continent to thank whoever can come and destroy it.

He is described as a burly man wearing fine garments that made him look like a prince.

Situ Nan only makes an appearance once in the story. This is during the time when Meng Hao brings the armies of the Vast Expanse School to destroy the Immortal God Continent. He informs Meng Hao of the events that took place in the Immortal God Continent and of the destruction of the Immortal-Astral Continent. He destroyed all of the puppets in the Immortal God Continent as a thanks and a way to make it more convenient for Meng Hao who ended the thousands of years of pain the Immortal-Astral Continent had to bear. He is believed to be outside of the Vast Expanse as the being in the Immortal God Continent was only a piece of his soul.
