Jin Yunshan to Meng Hao
on Chapter 1598: You're Still Here?!

Jin Yunshan is one of the recurring characters in I Shall Seal the Heavens. He first appeared in the ninth book of the series. He is one of the Five Potentates in the Vast Expanse School.

History[]

Jin Yunshan, along with Sha Jiudong, attacked Meng Hao when he was crossing the bridge to the first landmass in Necropolis of Patriarch Vast Expanse. He also got the Sixth and the Eighth Patriarch of the Vast Expanse School to attack Meng Hao along with him. This, of course, got both of them killed after Meng Hao returned.

He later fought Meng Hao after Meng Hao killed the Eight Patriarch right in front of him i.e giving him no face.

He was utterly defeated after Meng Hao used the ability of his bronze lamp to call upon the ghosts of the former residence of the City of Saints. He would've died if not the interference of the Sect Leader, Sha Jiudong, and all the other 9-Essences Paragons present.

Meng Hao had to let him go because Jin Yunshan's daoist magics were necessary to cross the other landmasses. Still, he only left him go after he gave a mountain of immortal jade as an apology.

Afterwards, Jin Yunshan tried to mess with Meng Hao by standing in his way, which almost led him to die as Meng Hao was in really bad mood at that time. Since then, he decided to never mess with Meng Hao.

Later, when Immortal Bai Wuchen plotted, along with Sect Leader and Sha Jiudong, to attack Meng Hao, Jin Yunshan played along. However, at the last minute he stopped from attacking Meng Hao due to his extremely deep fear of him. This planted some good karma with Meng Hao and allowed him to defeat Immortal Bai Wuchen, Sect Leader, and Sha Jiudong much more easily.

Countless years after Meng Hao's first battle with Allheaven and his apparent disappearance from the Vast Expanse, he manages to transcend in both fleshly body and cultivation when nearing the end of his longevity. While he had not transcended completely, missing a transcendent soul, others still considered him a transcendent cultivator. With his newfound power he challenged all the Peak 9-Essence Paragons in the Vast Expanse School and defeated them effortlessly. He initially was going to start with Sect Leader, but learned that he had already perished due to natural causes within closed door cultivation.

Afterwards, Jin Yunshan led the Vast Expanse School on a conquest to take over the entire Vast Expanse. Eventually, the entire starry sky was under the control of the Vast Expanse School with the exception of the Mountain and Seas Realm. Even after hundreds of thousands of years, Jin Yunshan's fear of Meng Hao had no disappeared in the slightest. He spent years sending clones to scout out the Mountain and Seas to truely determine whether Meng Hao was gone or not, as well as to learn of the realm's true might. After many calculations, he decides to invade the Mountain & Seas and finally conquer the entire Vast Expanse.

Easily decimating the experts of the Mountain & Seas, he laments how even though Meng Hao left such a grand legacy for the realm, not a single transcendent cultivator had ever appeared, let alone someone capable of mastering and combining all 9 Demon Sealing Hexes.

When the realm's Transcendent Protection Treasure attempts to stop him, Jin Yunshan is nearly killed by it. However, he survives and declares the subjugation of the Mountain & Seas until Meng Hao reveals himself. His is shocked and states that Meng Hao's power had reached an unfathomable realm that he could not even comprehend by just looking at him. He had hoped that during Meng Hao's battle with Allheaven he was severely weakened to the point that he could absorb him in order to transcend completely. Believing he had a chance, he attacks Meng Hao, who stops him effortlessly. Meng Hao congratulates him on transcending in two aspects, stating that he only needed to transcend in terms of soul. He urges Jin Yunshan to leave the Vast Expanse and seek a solution beyond the starry sky as there was nothing that would be able to help him here.

Refusing, Meng Hao forcibly sends him back to the Vast Expanse School, where he warned Jin Yunshan not to leave for the next 100,000 years. He obeyed and once the time was served he began another conquest of the Vast Expanse. This time, once he took over the entire starry sky with the exception of the Mountain & Seas, he did not dare attempt to invade it again. Eventually, he grew bored and decided to take Meng Hao's word from 100,000 years ago to seek out fortune beyond the starry sky.

Before leaving, he visits the Mountain & Seas Realm once last time to pay his respects to Meng Hao.

Trivia

  • Curiously, two of the spells Jin Yunshan possessed and used during his fight against Meng Hao originated from the Immortal God Continent, implying that he either fought and stole these abilities from one of their cultivators or perhaps had some connection to the landmass itself.
