Trivia
- More than two-thirds of the novel's chapter titles end with an exclamation mark.
- Chapters 758, 1514, 1611 are left untitled and there are two missing chapters in the novel; 690 and 1377.
- The number "nine (9)" is a prominent, as well as significant, feature in the story (i.e nine Demon Sealers, nine mountains and seas, the Nine Suns and or Fang Mu's nine lives). In Chinese numerology, this number has the same pronunciation with 久 (Jiu) which means "everlasting". Nine, the highest number in base ten, stands for completeness and eternity or, as reflected in ISSTH, the apex or culmination of things. Nine is also historically associated with the Emperors of China.
