I... am not actually the Heaven Severing Doyen!

Hao’er, you've grown up....
Fang Hehai
on Chapter 1382: Three Scripture Spikes!

One of the characters in I Shall Seal the Heavens that had several brief appearances.

When Meng Hao underwent several seven-year tribulations, he along with Heavengod, set out to obtain help from outside forces. But apparently, they never returned and were never heard from again. Their life jades indicate that although they're still alive and breathing, they obviously were in a situation that renders them unable to return.

He later reappears as the Heaven Severing Doyen, one of the three Doyens that sacrificed their lives to seal an 8-Essences Paragon.

Background

He was previously the Grand Elder of the Fang Clan before his disappearance. He is the father of Fang Xiufeng and thus, Meng Hao's grandfather.

History[]

Book 8

His first official appearance in the novel was as the Heaven Severing Doyen, though his clan were unaware of that fact at that time. The appearance of an 8-Essences Paragon during the attack of the 33 Heavens induced the Three Doyens to make an appearance, whose mission was to use their lives and their Daos to seal the Paragon. [1]

The three Doyens then proceeded to sacrifice their longevity to seal the Paragon for a length of time. As the Paragon tried to break the seal that bind her, the three Doyens along with their apprentices, sacrificed themselves to gravely injure her. [2]

It was also stated that Fang Hehai was not truly the Heaven Severing Doyen but was merely a discarnate soul imbued by Shui Dongliu, by means of a grand magic, in the Heaven Severing Scripture.[3]

Trivia
